How to get a "Book Online" button on your Google Business Profile
A practical guide for UK service businesses — what you can control, what Google controls, and how Flo fits in.
What is the Google "Book Online" button?
When someone searches for your business on Google, they sometimes see a blue "Book Online" or "Book" button directly in the search results. Clicking it takes them to your booking page without needing to visit your website first.
This button increases conversions because it removes friction. A client searching "physiotherapist near me" can book within seconds of finding you.
Important: Google controls whether the button appears
The "Book Online" button is not something any booking tool (including Flo) can switch on for you. Google decides whether to show it based on two factors:
- 1.Reserve with Google. Google has its own first-party booking programme called "Reserve with Google." If your scheduling software is an official partner, Google may surface a native booking interface directly in Search and Maps — handled entirely by Google. Flo is not currently a Reserve with Google partner.
- 2.Your website link. Google indexes your website. If your booking link is prominent and your Business Profile is complete, Google sometimes adds a "Book" link pointing to your booking page. This is automatic and at Google's discretion — you cannot force it.
Any booking tool that claims it can guarantee a Google "Book Online" button is overstating what it can deliver. The button is Google's decision.
What you can do to improve your chances
While you cannot guarantee the button, these steps genuinely increase the likelihood Google will surface your booking link:
Claim and complete your Google Business Profile
Go to business.google.com and claim your listing. Fill in every section — categories, hours, photos, description, and your website URL. An incomplete profile is less likely to get the button.
Add your booking link to your Business Profile website field
In your Google Business Profile settings, add your Flo booking page (e.g. withflo.app/book/your-business) as your primary website URL — or add it as an additional link under 'Booking'. This makes the link visible to Google's crawler.
Add your booking link to your own website
Put a prominent "Book Now" button on your homepage that links to your Flo booking page. Google indexes your site and can follow that link. The more visible the link, the more likely Google is to surface it.
Use the Flo website embed widget
Add the Flo booking widget directly to your website — it embeds your booking calendar on-page. Having booking functionality on a page Google can crawl signals that you accept online bookings.
Keep your profile active
Post updates, respond to reviews, and keep hours accurate. Active profiles with recent activity tend to rank higher and be treated as more trustworthy by Google's systems.
What Flo gives you regardless of the Google button
Even if Google never shows a Book button on your profile, having a proper booking page still reduces the admin burden significantly:
What is Reserve with Google?
Reserve with Google is a Google programme that integrates scheduling directly into Google Search and Maps. When it works, customers can book without leaving Google. It requires your booking software to have an official integration with Google's scheduling API.
Flo does not currently have a Reserve with Google integration. If native Google booking is a critical requirement for your business, look for tools that list Reserve with Google as a supported integration. We will update this page if that changes.
